If you audio device or other equipment supports Dolby Digital Plus, when you run Windows Update, it should also be able to detect and download the latest Dolby Digital Plus advanced audio driver for your Windows 10 PC. To run Windows Update, press Win+i keys to open Settings. Select Update & Security. From the left pane, click on Windows Update. Sometimes, especially after you upgrade Windows 7 or Windows 8 to Windows 10, you find the home theater v4 don’t have sound. Of course, it may also be the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 or Dolby Digital Plus Advanced audio.
I have the same problem and tried the Lenova solution here:. It doesn't work.
I did not have 'Realtek High Definition Audio' or 'Conexant SmartAudio' or 'IDT High Definition Audio' but do have Conexant HD Audio, which I uninstalled. However, after rebooting, it reinstalls itself.
Then I get the 'Unable to start the Dolby audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists' message. I found a potential solution at TroubleFixers.org: but am afraid to use it since you have to download something. Has anyone tried this successfully?
